iGribnik 2.1: finding zones, achievements and walks on iOS

What changed

We released iGribnik 2.1, an update that makes the app more useful before heading into the forest and while foraging.

The main new feature is finding zones on the map. We added 2,877 zones based on areas where mushrooms were marked more often. You can now enable a dedicated map layer, check nearby zones and choose a direction for a walk.

Zones are grouped by activity: weak, noticeable and active. A zone card shows the number of finds, observation years and the latest season. This does not guarantee mushrooms on any particular day, but it helps you orient yourself and plan a route with more context.

The app now includes an achievement system. Achievements unlock for walks, finds, catalog exploration, map use, seasonal activity and other actions. You can track progress in a dedicated section and share the achievements you have earned.

Walks are more convenient now. iGribnik saves the route, distance, time, average speed and found mushrooms. An active walk is also shown on the Lock Screen and in Dynamic Island through Live Activity, so the key details are visible without opening the app.

We also integrated iGribnik more deeply with iOS. The update adds Siri Shortcuts, mushroom and recipe search through Spotlight, new widgets for the season, walks and achievements, plus quick walk start from Control Center.

Mushroom, recipe, place and achievement cards can now be shared through the system share sheet with previews and deep links. The map is calmer too: filters, full-screen mode, place details, nearby zone lists and route display were improved.

Before going into the forest, we recommend opening the app in advance, refreshing the data and enabling the offline sections you need. And as always, stay attentive: the app helps you navigate and keep a history of finds, but it does not replace an experienced forager or specialist.
