What changed
We expanded the iGribnik map ahead of the active mushroom season. The app now includes 245 editorial places and 3,212 finding zones.
This update adds 104 new editorial places across Belarus, nearby countries in the region and Russian regions that previously had limited coverage. Descriptions were refined with regional context, forest directions and local notes to make each place easier to understand before a trip.
The finding zones layer was updated too. We refreshed the external mushroom places source and added new aggregated observations: one set for nearby countries in the region and one for undercovered Russian regions.
The new zones are not shown as raw individual points. They are aggregated from mushroom observations. We use recent coordinate-based data and only selected mushroom groups that are useful for foragers, including porcini, bay boletes, chanterelles, slippery jacks, birch boletes, honey fungus, morels and similar groups.
For Russia, we did not import the full observation set. It is very dense in places that were already well covered, so the new source is limited to regions that needed more data: Altai, Kamchatka, Karachay-Cherkessia, Chechnya, Dagestan, Primorsky Krai, Chuvashia, Kursk, Ivanovo, Rostov and other regions.
You can also share your own mushroom places with other iGribnik users. When adding a place, the app gives you a choice: keep it private or submit it for publication. After review, published places can become visible to everyone using the app.
All new places and zones will also appear in already installed copies of iGribnik. Just open the app and run the next data sync.
As before, finding zones do not guarantee mushrooms on a specific day. They help you choose a direction, understand past-season activity and see where it may be worth exploring. Before heading out, check the weather, local restrictions and route safety, and never pick mushrooms unless you are sure about them.
